--------
I have worked in the outdoors for the past fifteen years, working with a wide variety of client groups throughout the UK. Instructing in many activities, climbing and mountaineering are my passions. I am a holder of the Mountain Instructor Certificate and a provider for several NGB awards. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge of my specialist field and provide an informal and friendly approach.

Having climbed extensively around the world, I have settled within The Peak District National Park and have recently taken on the new challenge of becoming a Dad.

What is the Mountain Instructor Certificate?

Mountain Instructor Certificate MIC

The Mountain Instructor Certificate is the higher qualification within the Mountain Instructor scheme.

MIC holders are qualified to instruct all aspects of mountaineering, both summer and winter, including rock climbing, scrambling and technical snow and ice climbing and winter mountaineering.

MICs automatically hold MIA and Winter ML. They will have undertaken rigourous further training and assessment in teaching winter skills after gaining their MIA and Winter ML.

Whatever your age or level of skill, you can benefit from a day out with a Mountain Instructor Certificate or Mountain Instructor Award holder.

They also provide technical consultancy and training for a wide range of outdoor activity centres, training schemes and voluntary organisations including:

  • Risk assessments for activities and specific sites
  • Safety policies for Climbing and Mountaineering based activities.
  • Safety polices and advice for activities such as Gorge Walking and Ghyll
  • Scrambling
