We will bring the place to life, will making it all the more interesting and safer.

We will lead and organise the day while you enjoy the caves, taking in the scenery, savoring each step.

Visit the Peak districts deep and ancient Lead mines. Spend a weekend in the Dales, bottoming classic Pots such as Alum Pot, Ireby Fell Cavern, or maybe enter the Gaping Gill system and sit at the bottom of the second largest shaft and daylight lit shaft in the U.K. The adventurous world of Caving and Potholing is yours for the taking. A stunning adventure, conducted in some of Britain’s mightiest cave and mines.

Rigging for Single Rope Technique

Advanced S.R.T. Courses

The second step to self led independent vertical caving and potholing. If your safe and happy going up and down SRT ropes, passing re-belays and deviations, but would like to develop the rope rigging skills yourself, then this is suited to you. Expect to leave the course with a working knowledge of rigging guides and descriptions, ropes their selection and maintenance, types and use of anchors including 8mm hangers, knots and their versatility and application, plus safe efficient methods of using your S.R.T. kit to protect yourself whilst rigging the ropes.

This is an advanced course for individuals or pairs progressing to independent vertical caving and potholing. Involving comprehensive practical and theoretical surface training prior to self led and organized SRT descents.

Prior experience: Competent and experienced in Single Rope technique

Duration: Min 2 full days

Ratio: Due to the serious nature of rigging for S.R.T. ratios are strictly 1 instructor a maximum of 2 participants. Therefore groups larger than two will require additional instructors

An immobile caver suspended in a harness can have as little as 6 minutes before unconsciousness and death. This is often referred to as “Orthostatic Intolerance”, “Harness Induced Pathology” or “Toxic Shock Syndrome.”

  • Learning effective rope rescue methods in the event of an injury to your caving partners increases their chances of survival.
  • Find out ways of assisting a tired or injured group member up or down a rope with advice or direct hands on action.
  • Solve problems such as transporting an injured caver along a traverse line, or lowering them down pitches to the help below.
  • Understand the capabilities and versatility of your SRT equipment and how to get the best out of it in an emergency.
  • Have strategies for mid-pitch personal gear failure and how to deal with it quickly and soundly.
  • Learn how to rig for possible rescues and then how to execute them.
  • Discover what kit to carry to solve most rope based problems and how to use it correctly.

S.R.T. Rescue Courses

This advanced course will look at the advanced skills needed to help or evacuate a casualty from an SRT rope and move them vertically to a safer location.

Intense and highly enjoyable. Full of informative life saving tips and tuition.
