Private Instruction
Private instruction is an affordable alternative to attending an “open courseâ€.
With an agenda of your choice and no other people apart from yourself or your chosen group, skills and techniques can be developed more quickly and in greater detail.
This often suits people who have limited time available or wish to focus on a specific skill set.
Anything from a few hours to a multi-day programme can be arranged, mid-week or weekends.
Private Guiding
If you have always fancied descending a certain cave or climbing certain route but lack certain techniques, knowledge or equipment then private guiding may be right for you.
Let us look after you and the technical details whilst you focus on your enjoy of the day.
Certain climbs or caves may carry a technical difficulty and/or equipment surcharge. In the event of really poor weather, when it would be foolhardy or impractical to attempt the desired route or cave, an alternative trip maybe offered for that day, another date may be suggested for the future or a refund of 50% guiding fees will offered if either of these is unsuitable.
Fees for private instruction
We tailor make our costs to each group or client, dependant on the size of the group, what they wish to undertake and the equipment they will need.
Our fees are £120 to £200 per instructor, for every full, active and informative day.
They include the instructors over heads, such as liability insurance costs, up to medium distance travel, session preparation and clean up of all the specialist equipment the instructor will use, including ropes anchors emergency equipment etc.
In addition to the instructors fees, you may need to hire personal specialist equipment such as harness, cave suits, ice axes, helmets etc. at an extra minimal cost.
We are happy to advise on this.
We feel this is a good compromise, allowing the group to either bring their own personal equipment for the session, such as those on skills courses so keeping the costs down, or for those on introductory sessions, the opportunity to hire specialist equipment for the session undertaken.
